This game was made for screamjam 2024 and we had an absolute blast making it and learning GDevelop!

I like the concept a lot! Im a sucker for pixel art and the mc has a fun design.

I do have some feedback. The collision needs to be tuned in a bit. I kept getting trapped in houses. I do feel like there should be a couple things to feel like progression besides Grandpas stomach. Like a crescendo of cops as the days go. Or like the donkeys start to go missing. Also a mechanic to increase health or stamina would be nice. Maybe from the pixie looking characters that spawn on the north side or by feeding Grandpa.

A couple small things I think could be attended to faster, if you are allowed to edit during the contest. I think with a one hand layout, the space bar would be better for spamming stabs. Did feel a bit awkward. When going back to the farm, I do feel like we should enter from the right instead of spawning at the door to the house.

I think this is a great first attempt at a game jam! Good concept, fun design, and good music. While theres some bugs, nothing is falling apart and I didnt crash. I look forward to further releases

Cute little game all! Music was a highlight, and the pixel art was great!

Some things that I found during my playthrough:

  • Some noticeable slowdown during transition to the larger town map.
  • This slowdown when combined with sprinting would occasionally let me clip through the house walls.
  • While sprinting, blood splatters would occasionally not appear on kill.
  • While sprinting, meat would occasionally not drop on kill.
  • While sprinting, meat would sometimes end up too far past a house wall, making it impossible to pick up.

For what it is, this is a neat little project with a fun concept and the devs should be proud of what they put out in such a short amount of time, Truly well done all!
